how to order:

1. design
you can check out the gallery so you can get a feel of our design ideas!
please be informed, however, that we cannot replicate any of the shoes you see in this site. instead, you can give us your own specs (i.e. animals in primary colors, aliens, rock, rainbows, cars, etc) then we'll come up with a design executed just for you.

2. sneakers
your custom design sneaker would look more fab if it fits perfectly, so we recommend that you provide the sneakers for us. we use quality acrylic paints, so canvas sneakers would be the best choice!

3. payment terms and conditions
price basic customization (shoes c/o you) - php 900
terms and conditionscash basis only. payment should be made upon delivery.

4. meet up/delivery
we can arrange to meet in the Greenbelt area anytime during the weekday for pickup of the shoes. since we already have a waiting list, we'll have to confirm when you can get the shoes back. so best to provide the shoes asap so we can start working on it!

Nini asked us to do two pairs of D.O.T.S. sneakers for two cool cats. One is a girl who plays the drums and likes all things Disney and girly:

The other is a 17-year old boy who plays the guitar and loves "weird" things:

Nini, by the way, is not from Manila. It's amazing how far the shoes have travelled!

Erwin had thought his shoes out well: one shoe would be for his daughter, the other, for him. The challenge was to actually make skulls and rubber duckies, building blocks with snakes and such:

Drawings on the Shoes: Pam and Victoria

Pam saw Zee's feature on the oddballs and shoes on 2bu! and dropped us a note all the way from the Land Down Under. She wanted her shoes to reflect the two places close to her heart: Australia and the Philippines, so we put elements of each country on each sneaker. We put a twist to both shoes though: the Philippine flag is on the tongue of the Australian shoe and the Australian flag is on the Philippine shoe. That's your sort of "symbolism" of Pam keeping one part of the country she left when she's in the other...chos!
Victoria's is simple yet spunky. She lives on the other side of the world:

Noel wanted his to be patriotic (as the traveller who is often excited to see the world and show them where we came from :) ) so his theme is Pinas:

What do you put on ninja shoes? Ninjas, of course. And ninja stars. And other exploding things :)

Drawings on the Shoes: Tammy and Lara

A long overdue post!!!

We met Tammy at the Super! Bazaar a few weeks ago. She gave us her shoes right on the spot. She just wanted her favorite things on her sneakers (of course, this is the primary reason why most people want to have their sneakers customized...teeehee). The list included Vespas, Cameras, Polaroid, a VW Beetle, Elephats, Donuts, and other random things.

The funny thing was we forgot to put the most important element of all: Tammy's pandas! We got it back and placed the pandas somewhere there. Hey, it happens. :) You gotta love it when pandas pop out of nowhere!

These sneakers were a despidida gift to Lara from her friend JJ. Lara happens to be Apol's and Mike's boss at Publicis, and she left her post as Creative Director as she is soon-to-be Mrs. Lewis :)

Instructions were simple: Black and white--very minimalist. Yes, you can say this was a pair of sneakers with the real personal touch :)

These are actually a great alternative to Vans sneakers. The brand is BATA, and it's available at Landmark for a really great price! A good find indeed!

Powernap's Drawing On the Shoes: Steve and Chris

Hello! It's been awhile since we've posted anything, and we did promise something new this week but day jobs get in the way, you know? Hahaha. Shhooor.

Here are two shoes we did recently:

Steve just wanted something different. We gave him the Rat of God (see bottom picture, right part of the shoe). Yes, that' the RAT of God. He's not Stuart Little. Colors were supposed to be non girly (!!!) and aliens or alien animals.

We used a pair of white Vans slip ons. They're pretty fun to draw on because they've got a lot of space on top.

Admittedly, the brief from Chris for his sneakers was scary at first: a picture similar to Van Gogh's Cafe Terrace at Night and the famous Starry Night. Chris didn't want us to copy it exactly, but dominant colors would be pulled out from both pieces. The shoe with the Terrace-like visual have words on the heel "Tutti limiei penser parlan d'Amore" and the other, with the stars, "Videro li occhi miei quantapietate".

Chris also looked for the perfect sneakers for this. You can get them at Regatta, pretty cool pair for a pretty cool price if Chucks aren't really your thing :)

Powernap's Drawing On the Shoes: Jackie, Sanya, Jay, Krisella

Jackie wanted the design to be the same as what we did for our clay art on her last Sunday here in Manila (to fill you in, it was a picture of a one-eyed blue cat on a violet asteroid, and another was Apol's signature chicken).

Since we know how much Jackie misses Manila we put the Philippine Sun (ok there is no such thing as Philippine sun but it's similar to the sun on the flag!) and shores and other things. Aside from his signature chicken (lower right), he also puts a spoon and a fork

Originally, Sanya wanted something emo. We could've just painted the whole sneaker black and drew tears. Or Hale lyrics. Woohoo. Of course she was kidding! She wanted something bright, colorful, and gay, gay, gay!

The last two sneakers I'm going to post are something more different from the ones we did before :)

One is Jay's sneakers. He wanted his to have skulls, crows, branches, and daggers. The main color is black, with only red and olive green acccents

Challenging at first. Not to worry, the Tim Burton-ish kinds of things that move from playful to dark was not too difficult. Check the tree branches with the crows and the way the Converse logo just disappeared in the eye socket of the skull.

And yet, the most challenging of all: drawing on black sneakers!

Krisella wanted to ger something for her boyfriend who wanted something a bit "grunge rock" (according to her brief) with dice, card suits, snakes, skulls and crossbones.

There you have it: your usual spoon and fork :) The chicken is still buried somewhere underneath. What made the job easier to do is that we were asked to use only silver (but we asked if we could do color accents, but just decided against it).

Powernap's Drawing on the Shoes: Pabsy and Bea

Pabsy and Bea were our first two customers! We got so excited making their shoes that we did both in one sitting :)

Pabsy wanted her sneakers to be music and Christian inspired. Apol put the Sacred Heart (picture on the right) and a green eleflute (left picture). Then there are tooth angels and heaven scattered all over. Apol's signature chicken is on the back of the shoe (right picture)

Bea is a child of the 80s (like the rest of us...teehee!) so hers was a "tacky 80s inspired" design. Colors all around, with an alien family (because family sitcoms were big in the 80s!), a purple unicorn (was The Last Unicorn from the 80s?), an electric guitar, rainbow stars, a rainbow ruler, and my personal favorite, Mulletbot^TM (he's the hot bot on the left picture). Bea's sneakers were also fun to paint since the tips were canvas so there was a lot of drawing space.

Powernap at Super! Bazaar 9/3

We had our debut last Sunday at the Rockwell Tent for the Super! Artists Fair and Celebrity Bazaar. We had funfunfun in our little booth--from setup to strikedown!
